Spokane, WA to Berkeley, CA: July 18 - 25, 2016 For starters, let me offer that the University of California at Berkeley is also know as Cal, Berkeley, or Cal Berkeley. In addition, this area is one of the most faceted places I have traveled - technology money, Beat poets, Hippies, Japantown, Chinatown, Fisherman's Wharf, higher education, and so much more. Dr. Rachel B. Reinhard ran an incredible event (I will ever be know as #20). Associate Professor, Mark Brilliant, is a reflection of his name, and kind (offering to play tennis with me if I was staying the weekend at Berkeley!). I loved the Bay Area history and connections to WWII - such a powerful narrative of this time period. The weather is also an interesting experience - as we toured from 65 degrees at water's edge to nearly 90 degrees 15 miles inland.
