| We arrived early in Michurinsk, Tambov Oblast, Russia. After settling in to our room at the Maki Inn, Yaroslava S. returned to introduce us to the school and the community. The first day included school presentations, touring the city, and enjoying dinner with our hostess. As I think on them now, the days blended together as we enjoyed teaching and going on "excursions" with tireless Yaroslava. We visited historical museums, the Kornev Group in Green Valley (industrial farm for potatoes and beets), the Michurinsk State Agrarian University, art museum, and cathedrals. We also participated in a regional English teaching conference and an all Russia conference on best practices. |
